L.A.B. Golf Putter review

I didn’t imagine doing club reviews on this blog since there are already some great resources for that. However, considering that LAB Golf is less of a household name (not for long). I wanted to shine some light on how much I enjoy this putter. LAB stands for Lie Angle Balance, which indicates that the putter is balanced based on the angle between the shaft and the ground rather than the club face, or toe.

I have always seen myself as a solid putter. I excelled with short putts through my playing career but speed had always been a hit or miss. Despite having a relatively simple 50 -50 pendulum like putting stroke with a standard mallet putter, changing green speeds and grass types threw off my distance control. I would hone in on a certain green speed but the moment that changed it took days to adjust.

When I purchased the LAB golf putter I was looking for something that would make this transition simple. I finally landed on the DF2, the large head made it solid on short putts but its relative light weight and (most importantly) its lie angle balance made it a good candidate for helping me hone my speed control.

Overall, it met all expectations (which for me is difficult for any golf club to do). With this putter (and proper practice) my speed control on the greens became a strength of mine. With better speed, I started to make more long putts and have stress free tap-ins if not.

My putting stats improvements

There was immediate improvement with the LAB golf DF2 for me. Instead of being about even with the PGA tour in the strokes gained putting categories I started consistently gaining + .5 shots to +1.5 shots per round.
